Dog Worms -- Don't Let Them Get Started
There may be no warning before dog worms strike. It was about two AM, when beneath our bed the new puppy we'd brought home from the pound just a month earlier began screaming. Not yipping or whining -- this was the kind of agonized screams that'll stand your hair up on end. Our cute, playful new puppy was being eaten alive from inside. He had worms, even though he'd received all the right shots just a few weeks before. Now he was dying, right there under our bed, and we weren't able to save him.
The worms were just too advanced. He had been a happy little guy, playful and filled with fun. So that night -- and those screams -- have stayed with me a very long time. An experience like that will change your attitude fast. It sure changed mine.
Up till then I'd been a bit cavalier about health care for my pets. However, dog worms are serious business. They need to be treated as soon as possible. And even if you're not sure, get your dog tested anyway, just to be safe. Being safe...

Geodex Details Gold Bearing Zones in the Vicinity of the Cape Spencer Open Pit.
(ContentDesk) October 3, 2004 -- The open pit area lies at the southwestern end of the ten kilometre long property on which Geodex has been exploring a total of fourteen gold-bearing zones for the past year. Results from those zones have been independently reported. Gold in the former Cape Spencer mine and throughout the rest of the belt is known to occur in pyritic, illite-altered areas within mylonitized Precambrian granitoid rocks and Cambrian sediments. The Cape Spencer mine operated from 1985 to 1988, producing 226,000 tonnes of ore with an average grade of 1.6 g/t gold. However, controls are uncertain for the gold mineralization in the pit area.
Aside from re-establishing the potential of lower grade zones, one of the mandates of this company was to establish if discrete, higher-grade zones existed and could be followed outside the boundaries of the pit.Several drill holes and surface mapping in and around the pit have established the style and location of gold mineralization...

How To Conceal Your Website's "Fingerprint" From The Search Engines
The internet marketing industry is now flooded with various page and portal generators. In the good old days the gateway page generators did very well, earning a lot of money for many people. Then the search engines began to crack down on robot-generated pages, a trend which has led to the demise of such tools. But how is it that the search engines are able to track down these sites so fast?Well, its not rocket science. Believe me, even you could track down a site within minutes if you knew how to find its fingerprint.A fingerprint for a site is usually a piece of text or a paragraph or at times a particular CSS style that the software repeats for all the sites it generates. In fact that's why I always advise customers of my portal generation software Niche Portal Builder (http://www.novasoft-inc.net) to modify the default templates. If you use such software with the default templates provided and don't modify the HTML, you can be sure...

Beacon Hill Institute Survey 2005: Half of all Respondents Expect Massachusetts Economy to Improve in 2005
Respondents to the Beacon Hill Institute's 2005 State of the Household Survey are more optimistic about the national economy than about the state economy and more optimistic about the state economy than about their personal finances. While 64% believe that the national economy will improve this year, only 50% are similarly hopeful about the Massachusetts economy. Fifty percent (50%) see their household finances as neither improving nor worsening with only 34% seeing improvement. Only 21% believe that their own economic standing and that of the state is improving as they enter the new year -- a decrease of 13 percentage points from last year. The survey, sponsored by BHI, has been conducted each January since 1998.More than 425 individuals responded to this year's mail-in survey, which has a margin of error of +/- 5 percentage points. The BHI survey represents a sample of fiscal conservatives in Massachusetts who support free-market policies and the candidates who espouse them. This sample...

Achieving Recognition at Work
QUESTION FROM A SUBSCRIBER:There is an employee where I work who whines when she 2 things going on simultaneously. Although her hours are 8:30 -5:00, she shows up anywhere from 9:30 to nearly 2:00, and spends hours on personal phone calls and playing around. Meanwhile, I consistently come in to work at 8:00 and don't leave until 5:00 or even later, often eating lunch at my desk to get even more work done. But somehow she ended up getting a bonus this year when I did not. I don't get it!- J.
S.Dear J.S.,I totally understand your frustration!Working hard alone does not necessarily get you better pay and recognition. A big part of succeeding within most organizations is also playing the political game. If you work hard but the people who matter don't know you're working hard or don't understand what benefit you're providing, it might go unnoticed. From the situation you described, I would imagine your co-worker who comes in late is much better at "managing" her managers. Her managers...
